Increasing yields at a photovoltaic farm – washing 1 MW near Bydgoszcz

Photovoltaic power plants, also known as solar power plants, have one purpose. Namely, it is the production of electricity that can be consumed for personal use – self-consumption, or simply resold. In both cases, the owner of the plant cares about as much production as possible. Therefore, everyone has an appetite for increasing yields.

Increasing yields with respect to the assumed annual productivity borders rather on a dream, but! reducing yield losses is already as realistic as possible.

Dirty panels on a farm near Bydgoszcz

Our next order was to wash a photovoltaic farm near Bydgoszcz in the province. kujawsko-pomorskie. The plant came online in late 2022 and the panels have not been cleaned at all since then. Therefore, a lot of dirt collected at the bottom of the modules and also covered the glass surface.

What is the purpose of solar panel cleaning? Is it to increase yields or rather to prevent yield losses?

Regular cleaning of modules a way to avoid loss of yield!

Ready for the task at the photovoltaic farm, we showed up just after 7 o’clock. Equipped with the necessary equipment, we opened the entrance gate, unpacked our equipment from the car and were ready to get started. Longi’s panels, forming 16 long rows, greeted us with a surface matte from dirt. Some of them were varied by surprises left by birds. Ahead of us a lot of work to do, but neither enthusiasm nor verve our team lacked, so we began the task. Carefully panel by panel we cleaned meticulously to restore the shine of the surface, the frames to their “factory” condition and the entire installation to its original power.

Once again, we emphasize we did not act in order for there to be an increase in yields but to prevent losses!

When we took a break for lunch around 2 pm, sitting on the grass, we could admire the results of our work. The difference was significant. Rows of washed modules shone reflecting the clouds as if in a mirror.

We finished the order when the sun was already hiding behind the horizon.

The satisfaction of the work done is priceless. Customer satisfaction – priceless.

The operation of the installation has improved significantly – all thanks to the washing of its modules!
