Inspection and cleaning of photovoltaic installations

Inspection and cleaning of photovoltaic installations

Anyone who has decided to set up photovoltaics should realize that this is a system that needs to be taken care of. Monetary outlays put into investments should yield a profit over several or several decades going forward. Both regular maintenance and regular washing of photovoltaic modules are very important. Unfortunately, it is sad to say that not everyone who has invested a considerable sum in a photovoltaic installation pays adequate attention to the aforementioned elements. And after all, it is common knowledge that as you take care so you have, so we should do our due diligence to check the condition in which our power plant is located.

Reviews

During the inspection of the installation, which is an electrical installation, we not only check the visual condition of photovoltaic modules and inverters, but also take measurements. We perform voltage and resistance measurements of the AC side and DC side. Of course, we inspect the condition of the structure, boxes, connectors and any cables. This is Extremely important from a security point of view. Proper connection of cables, connectors is to guarantee the absence of electrical hazards. By this we mean any short circuit and also fire hazard. We report each irregularity noticed and write recommendations for the elimination of the perceived defect.

A dirty photovoltaic system produces less electricity. According to observations and experiments carried out on test installations, fouling significantly affects production levels. Contaminants can be of various origins, both organic and inorganic. Organic stains include bird droppings and moss growth resulting from prolonged dampness. Other organic pollutants are mainly falling leaves from trees in autumn, while pollen in spring. As for dirt of inorganic origin, on the other hand, these are all kinds of industrial dirt. That is, they are, for example, the cement dust or smog deposits we encounter many times. Depending on the location of the photovoltaic installation, we encounter different types of dirt. Different dirt is found in coastal areas, others in agricultural areas and still others in industrial zones. Nevertheless, any of this dirt should be removed from the surface of photovoltaic modules.

By recycling, valuable materials can be recovered.

Owning a photovoltaic installation arguably comes with savings smaller electricity bills And in the case of larger installations or photovoltaic farms, for example, even with income. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to remember to regularly inspect and wash the power plant.
