Damaged photovoltaic panel – what to do with it?

Damaged photovoltaic panel – what to do with it? That was the question one of our customers was asking himself. A resident of one of the nearby villages near Częstochowa.

The panel is from a photovoltaic installation that the customer installed on the roof of his house about four years ago. Recently, he noticed that one of the panels had been damaged – probably due to windstorms and a branch hitting the surface. The surface of the panel shows cracks and scratches, and its performance has dropped dramatically. Our customer was aware that a defective photovoltaic module could pose a safety risk, so he decided to replace the panel immediately upon discovery. He then sought answers to the question of what to do with the damaged module.

Damaged photovoltaic panel – what to do with it?

Do not dispose of photovoltaic panels in the regular trash! The company serving the neighborhood with waste collection will not pick up this kind of garbage from in front of the property. Also, they will not accept the photovoltaic modules so-called. PSZOKi (i.e., the point of selective collection of municipal waste). Damaged photovoltaic panels are classified as electro-waste and should be recycled in a specialized manner.

Destroyed panels

So to the point. Our customer called us and was not sure if a single piece of photovoltaic module could be brought to us. Will we even take it from him…. JinKo 410 W module in the number of pieces: 1. In fact, it is rare for us to have such small quantities of photovoltaic modules for recycling, but we accept any quantity. So the customer finally found a place to return the damaged panel.

We usually drive to customers to pick up damaged or destroyed panels or bring them to Us by courier service. This time, however, the Lord delivered the module to us independently. In this way, it can be “taken apart” and the materials obtained can be put back into circulation.
