The plant washing season is slowly coming to an end. It’s getting colder, the days are shorter, but still, a few days remain. As they used to say, this is the last call to implement the cleaning of a photovoltaic farm.
We got the order to cleaning the modules on a 1 MW solar power plant near Warsaw. Located on a plot of more than 2 hectares, it was also recently mowed. Mowing caused additional dirt on the surface of the panels.
At this point, it is worth noting that mowing should be done a maximum of one week before washing. First, it is related to health and safety, as tall dry grass combined with a slow-moving car can be a fire hazard.
Secondly, mowing on farms is done so that grass or other plants do not grow and shade the surface of the modules. And in view of the fact that mowing is not one of the “clean” activities we mow before and not after washing.

Our team showed up at the farm around 6:30 am. Dawn greeted us with a slight chill but the sun peeking out from behind the horizon filled us with hope for later warmth.
After leaving for the farm, we nimbly parted the equipment, planned the operation and then proceeded to clean the modules.
The dirt we had to get rid of was mainly dust, soil and grass residue from mowing. The two-year-old power plant has not been washed since its inception. A lot of dirt has collected at the interface of the frame glass.
In view of this, our operators removed the dirt with due care with brushes.
A total of four people tackled all the panels in ten hours and, after packing up their equipment, were able to head back to base.
