Collection of damaged photovoltaic panels – various locations in Poland

We recently received an order to collect photovoltaic panels from several locations in Poland. Since we had agreed with the principal that the acceptance was on our side, we had to coordinate it carefully. When executing an order, we always focus on professionalism and meticulousness, which is key to ensuring the safe transportation and disposal of photovoltaic panels.

collection of damaged panels

In total, we had more than 250 photovoltaic panels to collect from various locations in Poland. The total weight of these panels was about 5.5 tons. Consequently, transporting these modules involved scheduling several trips.

The damage was manifold. Therefore, we could not stack all the solar modules on pallets. We had to load some of them one by one due to the condition they were in.

Therefore, before receiving the damaged panels, we received information about what kind of damage they were. With this information, we were able to carefully plan the route for collecting these modules.

The damage was primarily to:

  1. Microfractures. Often invisible to the naked eye, but potentially affecting panel performance.
  2. Mechanical Damage. Windstorm, damage in transit or installation.
  3. Delamination, burned-out MC4 connectors.

Locations

In the case of Tri-City, our team, in addition to the reception itself, also had to ensure the dismantling of the panels and structure. This is also where the largest batch of destroyed modules came from. On Silesia, where photovoltaics are playing an increasingly important role, we picked up panels from an industrial zone. There we had the cargo prepared for transport, arranged on pallets. While in Warsaw i Lodz the broken panels we took for recycling came from photovoltaic farms, destroyed during installation.

Among the panels we received were modules:

  • JinKo
  • Jasolar
  • Astronergy
  • LG
  • Trina Solar
  • Canadian

It took us 4 days to complete the entire order. It included coordinating the work of our teams. An important element was the cooperation between the warehouse and the drivers of the cars bringing in the modules.
